MR181 Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche

The great Tibetan master Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche (1910–1991) spent several weeks at Taksang, 'the Tiger’s Lair', one of Bhutan’s most sacred sites, in 1980, offering a hundred thousand butter lamps and giving teachings and empowerments. During a ceremony intended to renew the spiritual influence of Taksang, he stood on a balcony overhanging the precipice, wearing brocade robes and the Lotus Crown, looking out over the landscape.
