MR8 Double rainbow

A double rainbow appears over Palpung Monastery (Kham, Eastern Tibet) as Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche's party approaches. Tibetans consider rainbows to be very auspicious omens. This is the only monastery in the region that was not destroyed during the Chinese Cultural Revolution. More than 6,200 monasteries have been razed throughout Tibet. 1988.
