The Tibetan master Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche crossing the 16,000 foot Gosé-La pass in Eastern Tibet, near Derge. The name means 'White Hair Pass:' it is said that even if you set out to climb it with black hair, your hair will have turned white by the time you reach the top. Khyentse Rinpoche traveled in a sedan chair, carried by local people from villages along the way, all eager to take turns of some fifteen minutes. They walked at such a speed that the rest of his party, even those carrying nothing, found it difficult to keep up with them. Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche (1910-1991) was one of the great masters of Tibetan Buddhism. He was a principal teacher of the present Dalai Lama. 1988. Treat yourself with an exhibition quality, fine art photographic print, signed by the hand of Matthieu Ricard, buddhist monk, photographer and author. He has also been the French interpreter of His Holiness the XIVth Dalai Lama since 1989. Some of the photographs in his collection are printed in limited edition, signed, numbered and delivered with a certificate of authenticity.
